Synopsis

Q&A with director Dužan Duong on 18th of May 2026 EN After 10 years in Vietnam, red-haired Kien, returns to his family's market stall in Cheb, but finds a distant father, tired mother, and harsh younger brother instead of the warm welcome he expected. With the lightness and witty-fattered film by the director Dujan Duong, the film brings an authentic look into the life of the Vietnamese community through the eyes of the first Vietnamese generation, which grew up in the Czech Republic. Director: Dužan Duong is a director and cinematographer of Vietnamese origin. He made his debut at the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival with the short film "Mat Goc" and gained attention with the film "Bo Hai". His work focuses on themes of identity and cultural memory. He also works as a cinematographer in advertising under the brand Novák+Nguyen.
