Synopsis

When Regina Leandro is found dead near her old factory, her neurodiverse granddaughter wants to understand why. Aware that her relatives, all abroad on holidays, will ask questions, Milene investigates. On the grounds of the abandoned factory, she finds the Mata family, who now live there, and among them Antonino, a widowed construction worker. They welcome her with caution, kindness and music and she falls in love. But her family returns, obsessed with their reputation and selling the estate and quickly demonstrate they’ll never be ready to accept Milene’s radiant independence. Q&A with the director
