Booty Therapy: Rage, Healing and Resistance
EventAbout this event
Madame Booty Therapy, English / French [OmeU], 30 min The power of women’s rage unfolds through the story of Maïmouna Coulibaly, a French-Malian artist and the creator of Booty Therapy, a radical resistance movement through dance. Survivor of female genital mutilation and childhood sexual violence, she transforms personal trauma into a powerful artistic and political practice. Through dance, voice and collective rituals, Booty Therapy becomes a space where women reclaim their bodies, their stories and their power. Blending movement, testimony and performance, the film follows a community in transformation — from vulnerability and resistance to strength and connection. Through intimate moments, workshops and performances, we witness how individual experiences become part of a collective journey of healing and empowerment. Challenging taboos around sexuality, pleasure and healing, Maïmouna opens a space where rage is not silenced but expressed, shared and transformed. More than a dance practice, Booty Therapy emerges as a form of resistance — a collective awakening and a revolutionary redefinition of what it means to inhabit one’s body freely.
